Zhaoqing is located in the mid-west of Guangdong Province. To the east, is the picturesque city of Foshan, situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty Zhaoqing is overlooked by the dramatic Southwestern scenery of the Motherland.

Zhaoqing is conveniently located for visitors, being only one hour by car from the city centre to downtown Guangzhou, whilst frequent ferry, direct-train and bus services link Zhaoqing to the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong. The total area of Zhaoqing is 15,000sq.km, and its population is 4.05million. Zhaoqing governs 8 counties (cities,districts), namely: Duanzhou District; Dinghu District; Gaoyao City; Sihui City; Guangning County; Deqing County; Fengkai County; ?Huanji County; and the Zhaoqing Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone - which itself ranks as a province.

 

Zhaoqing is a famous historic and cultural city and is ranked by the state as not only as a Top Tourist City in China of the first-order, but is also a National City, a National Hygiene City, and has its status recognized as an Environmental Protection Model City State. Indeed, Zhaoqing is acknowledged as being one of China’s top 100 cities with favorable investment conditions.

Zhaoqing has an excellent industrial development foundation. There are 9 public ports, and is itself at the heart of a major transport network, which includes: the Guangzhou-Zhaoqing Freeway; the Guangzhou to the Southwest China Railway; National Highway 321 and National Highway 324. The 500km Circular Highway conveniently links all administrative counties (cities, districts) of Zhaoqing. Ocean going ships with a displacement of 3000 Tonnes can navigate directly from Zhaoqing to the ocean along the Xijiang River, otherwise known with affection as the “Golden Waterway”. ?Of the 40 nationally listed professional industries, 37 are represented within Zhaoqing: a significant number of these are world-class manufacturing enterprises representing industrial sectors as diverse ?as: electronic information; pharmaceuticals; foodstuffs and beverages; automotive spare parts; mechanical engineering; textile & garment production; forestry and lumber products; chemical manufacturing; and building materials. These industries are represented by a number of well-known National companies, such as: Fenghua High-Tech; Xinghu technology; Blue Ribbon Beer; Hongtu High-Tech; to name but a few. We are pleased to welcome these nationally eminent companies many of whom are listed on the China stock market. These companies have helped to establish the area as the national production base for the electronic component and bio-pharmaceutical industries.

 

The outward-oriented economic development of Zhaoqing is both fast and dynamic; this is exemplified by more than 30 countries and district merchants’ that have already invested in Zhaoqing. In total, over 1300 foreign-funded companies have become established in the City. In 2006 alone, a total of 6720 million US$ worth of foreign-funded capital has been invested in the locality. A number of the World 500 Top Companies and American 500 Top Companies, such as Japanese Honda, Korea SK Group, Korea Hyundai, Marubeni corporation, U.S. LP Automobile Group, and the largest Aluminum production company in Asia—Asia Aluminum Group have all invested in Zhaoqing.

Zhaoqing is rich in land resources, and has a superior investment environment. Zhaoqing High Technology Industry Development Zone is the Guangdong provincial key industrial park zone for attracting foreign investment. The zone covers an area of 98 square kilometers, and is ideally situated within 30 km of Guangzhou International Airport, and only 6 km from the international container port. ?

As a consequence of over 300 foreign companies investing in the area, Zhaoqing government approval and charges have been further standardized and preferential policies have been introduced to further encourage foreign investment. The Government Administration Service Center was set up to provide full package of services to foreign enterprises.
